Leine Palace (Lower Saxony State Parliament)
From the 17th century, the Leine Palace served as the town residence of the House of Welf and was remodelled in a neoclassical style by court architect Georg Ludwig Friedrich Laves. Rebuilt after wartime destruction, it has housed the Lower Saxony State Parliament since 1962. The glazed plenary-chamber extension links the historic façade with modern democracy. Visits to the plenary chamber and guided tours are possible by appointment.
