Berggarten Botanical Garden
The Berggarten opposite the Great Garden is one of the oldest botanical gardens in Germany. What began as a kitchen garden of the House of Welf grew into a scientific plant collection of around 12,000 species. Highlights include the tropical rainforest house, the cactus and desert house, the orchid show house and the paradise garden. The garden is also home to the mausoleum of the House of Welf, where King George V and other family members are buried.
