Herrenhausen Palace
Herrenhausen Palace was once the Baroque summer residence of the House of Welf and the centerpiece of the Great Garden. Destroyed in the Second World War, it was reconstructed between 2009 and 2013 by the Volkswagen Foundation following the historic model. Behind the neoclassical Laves façade lies a modern conference and congress center. On the ground floor, the Herrenhausen Palace Museum tells the story of the gardens and the Welf dynasty.
