Hannover with Kids
Hannover is surprisingly family-friendly. The Adventure Zoo is considered one of the finest in Europe, the Maschsee invites you out on pedal boats, the Eilenriede offers woodland playgrounds and the tilted dome lift in the New Town Hall thrills young and old technology fans alike. One day is enough for the key highlights.

Family highlights in a single day
We start at the Adventure Zoo, have lunch, ride the tilted lift up the town hall and finish with pedal boats on the Maschsee.

Adventure Zoo Hannover
One of the most beautiful zoos in Europe, laid out in themed worlds: Zambezi with a boat safari, Yukon Bay with polar bears and penguins, a Canada farm and a jungle palace. Easily half a day - children love the boat ride through Africa.
Tip: Online tickets save waiting time. Sturdy shoes for the sprawling grounds.

Lunch in the Oststadt
Between the zoo and the Eilenriede lies the Oststadt with family-friendly eateries, ice-cream parlors and cafes - a good break before the afternoon program.

New Town Hall with the tilted lift
The tilted lift is an experience in itself: the cabin rises at a 17-degree angle into the cupola. At the top, children can hunt for the whole city below - the Maschsee, the zoo, the Eilenriede.

The Maschsee with pedal boats
At the Maschsee you can hire pedal and rowing boats, the ferry runs back and forth and there are meadows to run around on the shores. Ice cream and chips at the beach bars included.
Tip: On windy days take the ferry rather than a pedal boat - more relaxed with small children.
