Sprengel Museum
The Sprengel Museum on the shore of the Maschsee is one of Germany's leading museums for 20th- and 21st-century art. Its foundation was the donation of the chocolate manufacturer Bernhard Sprengel. On display are works of German Expressionism, Cubism and Surrealism by Picasso, Klee, Beckmann and Schwitters, as well as a major holding of works by Niki de Saint Phalle, who donated large parts of her oeuvre to the museum.
