Eilenriede Run 2026: thousands jog through the urban forest
The long-standing community race takes participants right through the Eilenriede, one of the largest urban forests in Europe.

The Eilenriede Run is one of Hannover's oldest running events. In 2026, several thousand runners take to courses ranging from five to 21 kilometers. The route runs straight through the Eilenriede, which at around 640 hectares ranks among the largest urban forests in Europe. Alongside the main races there are children's and school runs. The event is organized by the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung together with local sports clubs.
